Last day at work

Hey Guys

Well can you believe it that today is my last day of work at Core Technology! As of Monday I will officially be unemployed - the first time since i was 14 that I have been unemployed for a single day! Even when I was in the UK I had a signed work contract to come home to! Freaky!!!

At least it's a bit warmer today - I didn't even have smoky breath walking to the train this morning! The mertservice has the wind chill at 9 degrees. The interesting thing is that for 9 degrees they're only recommending 1 layer of clothing to keep warm. Well I don't know about you but I think I need a lot more than 1 layer to keep warm in that! They must have some pretty cold blooded people updating that website! It also puts into context the 4 layers they were recommending the other day!

Well I guess I'd better actually go and do some work now :-)

For those that don't remember my leaving dinner is on tomorrow, Sat 30th at Oriental Thai on Cambridge Tce at 7:30pm. There's only 1 spot left in the booking so if you're planning on coming to dinner and haven't rsvp'd then let me know.

Cheers
Ange

A cold and windy Wellington day

Well it has dawned a very cold and windy Wellington morning to mark 14 days to go. Having a look on the MetService website for Wellington, apparently the wind chill factor makes the temperature feel like -1 degree and yes - 4 layers of clothing are advised to stay warm! Now that is cold *shiver*
And to make it worse it's not even going to make it into double digits today! Hmm - telling Megan that we were taking the puppy for a walk after work tonight may not have been such a good plan. Right - Gina - I want my gym membership back ;-) It's too cold to exercise outside. Maybe I'll just put on some winter blubber to keep warm. Mmmmm - warm *drool*.

The new & improved hairdo

Well I was sitting at work yesterday thinking "I hate my hair - it so needs a cut".
By chance on the way to the railway station the night before, I noticed a new hairdresser had opened up in one of those shops at the bottom of the new Holiday Inn hotel in town (they were having their "I'm about to open party). So I thought to myself - first day open - they're bound to not have a lot of appointments and should be able to squeeze me in :-) And that's exactly what happened - yay!

So - the result?!
I must admit I was a bit anxious at first as I've never had my hair cut by a guy before! However I am rather happy at this stage - a much nicer cut than the last couple. Worth the extra $20. However do keep in mind that I haven't done the "washing test" yet! So it's still semi hairdresser styled at this stage.

Anyway I thought I'd throw in a few pics of what it looked like yesterday :-) It's quite straight as the guy blow dried it straight. If only I could style my hair so well. Wouldn't it be great to be super rich and have someone to do your hair every morning for you *sigh*

Oh, and as an added bonus the guy is pretty cute and has a really nice accent ;-) But how could you not with a name like Jacque! Nothing wrong with a bit of eye candy in the mirror while getting your hair done aye ladies :-) Yes Paul I know - if you said something like that you'd get in SO much trouble :-) Mwhahahahahahahaha!

So if you're interested in a new hairdresser then I recommend this one :-) A cut cost me $70 so that's pretty normal for Wellington.

Twenty Days and *shiver* counting!!

Hey Guys
Well it's now less than 3 weeks till I go can you believe it! Still doesn't feel that real! I guess when I finish up at Core next Friday and Paul arrives from Aussie it'll start feeling a bit more like it's actually happening. Can't say I'm enjoying the whole not owning a car thing. I realise it's a lot better for my health having to walk to the train station in the mornings, but MAN was it cold this morning! So cold in fact that I decided it was a very good idea to run to the station as that might warm me up a bit! Alas it was only my legs that warmed up - my fingers, ears and toes still had frostbite. But at least warm legs is better than nothing. The dream of warmer temperatures is keeping me going! Yay for wearing less than 4 layers of clothing - marshmallows are just so not cool!
I was off work sick the past couple of days - seems that dreaded lurgy finally caught up with me! Means I missed going to the movies with Ana, Carol & Bronwyn. Stink! Hope you guys had fun without me! I watched the new season opener of Ugly Betty! I love that show! Ok I admit it - my life revolves around tv - we're back to good shows on every night Mon - Thurs - yay!
Ok - better do some work now :-) Hope you all have a fabulous day and dream some warm dreams :-)

Four weeks and counting!

Well I am currently home-less, car-less and in less than 3 weeks I will be job-less. In exactly 4 weeks I will be leaving these lovely shores for greener pastures. Hmm, well actually I'm not too sure how green they're going to be given the current state of the Brisbane's water supply, but you get the drift.

So I will keep you updated on this crazy kiwi's escapade!
